Kala Junction
Kala Junction is United Way of Baroda’s flagship educational and youth development initiative designed to inspire creativity, innovation, and intellectual excellence among school students. The event provides a dynamic platform where children from diverse backgrounds participate in a wide range of art, literary, cultural, and knowledge-based competitions that encourage creative expression, critical thinking, teamwork, and healthy competition. By creating opportunities for young minds to showcase their talents and develop confidence, Kala Junction promotes holistic learning beyond the classroom. The programme culminates in a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony that recognises and celebrates outstanding performances, motivating students to pursue excellence in their chosen fields. In addition to fostering creativity, the initiative extends educational support to underprivileged children through the distribution of educational kits and scholarships, helping remove financial barriers to learning and ensuring that deserving students have access to quality educational opportunities. Through Kala Junction, United Way of Baroda continues to invest in the next generation by nurturing confident, compassionate, and socially responsible young leaders who are equipped to contribute meaningfully to society.

The Public Education Committee of United Way Baroda has been organizing Inter-School Competition entitled ‘Kala Junction’ since last 22 years for the school children. Various competitions like poster making, essay writing and Folk Dance competition are organized with an objective to develop their personality, sensitize and mould their mind towards the social issues and current affairs of our country. The event provides an opportunity to the budding minds to show-case their talents. The children get exposure, recognition and learn through meeting and interacting with the students and teachers of other participating schools. This year there was a participation of more than 600 students from over 70 schools of Vadodara.
