United Way of Baroda, in collaboration with Shri Jalaram Blood Bank, organised a Blood Donation Camp on 2nd June 2026 at its office in Alembic City, Vadodara. The initiative brought together employees from neighbouring offices, corporate representatives, volunteers, and community members who united with a shared commitment to support a life-saving cause. The camp served as a platform to promote voluntary blood donation while encouraging social responsibility and active community participation. Trained medical professionals conducted health screenings and supervised the donation process in accordance with established safety protocols, ensuring a safe and seamless experience for every donor. Informative awareness sessions highlighted the critical importance of regular blood donation and its role in strengthening healthcare services. The drive successfully collected more than 50 units of blood, each capable of saving multiple lives by supporting accident victims, patients undergoing surgeries, individuals battling chronic illnesses, and those requiring emergency transfusions.
STUDENT FELICITATION CEREMONY
Celebrating Academic Excellence and Inspiring Future Leaders
Recognising the power of education in transforming lives, United Way of Baroda organised a Student Felicitation Ceremony to honour the outstanding academic achievements of students supported through the Mission Shiksha, Shikhar Science Scholarship Programme, and Umang Scholarship Project. A total of 128 students who secured above 80% in their board examinations were felicitated for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to academic excellence. The ceremony celebrated not only their remarkable achievements but also the unwavering support of parents, mentors, teachers, and well-wishers who played an integral role in their educational journeys. As a token of encouragement, students received certificates, school bags, educational supplies, and other learning resources to support their continued pursuit of higher education. The event served as an inspiration for young learners, reaffirming United Way of Baroda’s commitment to nurturing talent, promoting educational equity, and empowering deserving students to realise their aspirations and contribute meaningfully to society.
SPOKEN ENGLISH SESSIONS
Building Confidence Beyond Academics
United Way of Baroda is strengthening the future readiness of its scholarship students through structured Spoken English Sessions, designed to enhance communication skills and build self-confidence. Conducted by a professional trainer, the programme currently supports 50 students, equipping them with essential language and interpersonal skills required for higher education, employment, and personal growth. Through interactive learning methods that focus on spoken English, vocabulary enhancement, pronunciation, group discussions, and public speaking, students develop the confidence to communicate effectively in academic, professional, and social environments. Beyond language proficiency, the sessions nurture critical thinking, presentation skills, and self-expression, empowering participants to seize new opportunities and navigate an increasingly competitive world. The initiative reflects United Way of Baroda’s holistic approach to education by preparing students not only for academic success but also for lifelong personal and professional development.
WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATIONS
To commemorate World Environment Day, United Way of Baroda organised a series of engaging environmental activities on 5th June 2026, bringing together staff members, interns, corporate volunteers, environmental experts, and school children to promote environmental stewardship and sustainable living. The celebrations began with a guided Nature Walk through the Miyawaki Forest at Rupapura, Kanjari, Halol, developed by United Way of Baroda with the support of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. under its CSR initiative. Led by renowned environmentalist Dr. Jitendra Gavali, participants explored the thriving forest ecosystem while learning about biodiversity conservation, ecological restoration, native plant species, and the innovative Miyawaki afforestation method. The programme continued with a Tree Plantation Drive at Gayatri Nagar, where volunteers and 35 students from Kanjari Kumar Prathmik Shala planted more than 100 saplings, reinforcing the importance of increasing green cover and protecting natural ecosystems. As part of the celebrations, staff members and interns also participated in a Seed Ball Making Activity, preparing seed balls using soil, compost, and native seeds to support natural regeneration and enhance biodiversity.
EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH AWARENESS
As part of its continued commitment to women’s empowerment, United Way of Baroda organised an awareness programme under the theme “Empower Her, Celebrate Her,” bringing together more than 150 women beneficiaries for an afternoon of learning, inspiration, and celebration. The initiative aimed to equip women with practical knowledge and essential life skills to confidently navigate today’s financial and digital landscape. Participants attended informative sessions on Financial Management, led by Kiran Satapara, and Cyber Security, conducted by Bhaumik Merchant, gaining valuable insights into budgeting, savings, investments, digital transactions, and protection against online fraud. The interactive sessions encouraged dialogue, addressed real-life concerns, and empowered participants to make informed financial and digital decisions. Adding to the significance of the event, the Women Empowerment Awardsrecognised inspiring women whose resilience, leadership, entrepreneurship, and community service continue to create positive social impact.
NGO CONCLAVE
The NGO Conclave is a knowledge-sharing platform organised by United Way of Baroda to strengthen the governance, compliance, and operational capacities of non-profit organisations. Held on 16th December 2024, the conclave brought together representatives from across the development sector to gain practical insights into evolving regulatory frameworks and best practices. The session was led by Mr. Noshir Dadrawala, CEO of the Centre for Advancement of Philanthropy, one of India’s leading experts in non-profit governance and philanthropy. Participants received valuable guidance on Income Tax Compliance, FCRA and CSR regulatory updates, and compliance under the Bombay Public Trust (BPT) Act – Gujarat, enabling organisations to enhance transparency, accountability, and legal compliance. The event witnessed the participation of 120 representatives from 69 NGOs across Vadodara district, fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and stronger partnerships within the social sector.
ENVIRONMENT CONCLAVE
The Environment Conclave is United Way of Baroda’s flagship environmental forum that brings together leaders from the corporate, academic, government, and development sectors to encourage dialogue, collaboration, and innovative solutions for environmental sustainability. Successfully organised for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024, the conclave has emerged as an important platform for promoting responsible environmental practices and advancing sustainable development. The 2023 edition focused on Best ESG Practices, Rural to Urban Transition, and Decentralised Waste Management, encouraging discussions on practical approaches to environmental conservation. Building on this success, the 2024 conclave brought together over 200 stakeholders and commenced with a documentary showcasing United Way of Baroda’s Community Impact Projects aligned with 12 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Expert-led sessions explored themes including Sustainable Innovation and Supply Chain Management, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Practices, Corporate Sustainability, Water Management, Women’s Role in Environmental Conservation, and Green Leadership at the Grassroots. By fostering cross-sector collaboration and knowledge exchange, the Environment Conclave continues to inspire meaningful action towards building a greener, more resilient, and sustainable future.
WOMEN’S DAY EXHIBITION
To celebrate International Women’s Day, United Way of Baroda organised “Empower Her, Celebrate Her,” a two-day exhibition held on 15th and 16th March 2025 at Trisha Gallery. The exhibition was dedicated to promoting women entrepreneurs while supporting NGOs working towards women’s empowerment and the empowerment of persons with disabilities. The event provided a vibrant marketplace where participants showcased and sold handcrafted products, connected with customers, expanded their professional networks, and explored new business opportunities. Designed to encourage entrepreneurship and financial independence, the exhibition highlighted the creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of women from diverse backgrounds. The event featured 10 participating NGOs and 13 women entrepreneurs, collectively generating approximately ₹1 lakh in sales, demonstrating the potential of community-driven platforms in strengthening livelihoods and promoting inclusive economic growth.
