At United Way of Baroda, our approach to Livelihood Generation focuses on empowering individuals by providing sustainable income sources, offering entrepreneurial support, and fostering a sense of self-reliance for the community’s overall well-being.
The Udaan Livelihood Program, an extension of our Shishu Kit Initiative, is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities by offering meaningful employment opportunities. The program involves individuals from the community actively participating in assembling Shishu Kits, which promotes personal growth, skill development, and a sense of responsibility.
This initiative not only brings financial benefits but also contributes to the social integration and personal empowerment of those involved. It encourages individuals to develop confidence and independence while making a valuable contribution to society.
The Shishu Kits assembled in this program contain essential items for new mothers and their babies, supporting them during the critical early days of life. By providing these kits, the program helps ensure the well-being of both mother and child, while also creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities to engage in meaningful work.
Aligned with the goals of decent work and economic growth, the Udaan Livelihood Program works to integrate individuals with intellectual disabilities into the community, empowering them to live independently and contribute productively. This initiative highlights how, with the right support, individuals can achieve significant personal growth and make meaningful contributions to society.
