His father also worked as a diamond polisher at nights to make the ends meet. Hiren was a bright student who scored 88% in his HSC exams in 2008. He aspired to become a Doctor. His hard work and focus got him an admission in MBBS at Government Medical College in Surat. The yearly expenses with lodging and boarding turned out to be around Rs.50,000 which was not affordable for his family. Considering his financial condition, his school teacher came forward to support his education. The teacher supported his educational expenses for a year. He is now a Resident Doctor at Valsad Medical College earning Rs.25,000 per month. He is now financing his brother’s education who also aspires to become a Doctor. He has asked his father to stop working. His family is proud of his achievement. He wants to do his post graduation and dreams to set up a hospital at his village to treat the needy patients. He says that the UFSF family held his hands like his own family and he is very grateful for all the mentoring and counseling that has helped him to be a better person.
