VISHNUBHAI AMIN ORPHAN AND DESTITUTE PROJECT

Primary Education… The Right of every Child

United Way Baroda (UWB) with the support from funds donated by Shri Vishnubhai Amin, a philanthropist, is providing educational and overall development support to orphans and destitute primary school children of Vadodara every year. The project has been undertaken since 2006 and implemented till date. Every year about 400-500 children are identified and supported.

5. Health care and nutritional services provided

Kit Distribution program

The educational kit distribution was held on 5th August, 2016 at Lions Hall – Gadapura Road, Vadodara. A total of 665 Orphan and Destitute children study in 105 different municipal corporation schools were provided educational kit comprising of necessary educational material like school bag, note books, text books, dictionary, tiffin box, water bag, geometric box, & various other stationery items required for the entire academic year.  Shri Keyur Rokadia- Chairman, Nagar Prathmik Sikshan Samiti, was Chief Guest for the event and Shri. Upendra Shah, Shanshana Adhikari, Nagar Prathmik Sikshan Samiti graced the occasion. Mr. Shivinder Singh Chawla, Chairman;  and Mr. Minesh Patel, Chairman, Resource Development Committee;  United Way Baroda presided over the ceremony.

New Year Celebration

This Year 148 children from 16 Nagar Prathmik Sikshan Samiti schools were approached for knowing their wishes. Christmas tree and donation box was placed in Koch Chemical Technology Group India Pvt. Ltd., Savli. The staff and workers of the company came forward to fulfill the wishes of the children. The wishes of 67 children were fulfilled by staff and workers of the company and remaining were supported by United Way Baroda.

The gift distribution programme was held on 3th January 2017 at Inorbit Mall, Vadodara. Mrs. Ranjanben Bhatt Member of Parliament was the Chief Guest. Mr.Jatin Parikh Managing Director, Koch Chemical Technology Group India Pvt. Ltd.,was Guest of honor. Mr.Keyur Rokadiya, Chairman, Nagar Prathmik Sikshan Samiti was also present for the event. The children received the gift of their choice ranging from Indoor Game, Football, Carrom board, Uniform Sweeter to blanket, Remote Car and so on. The Children were surprised to receive the gifts of their choice. The joy was visible on their faces in form of smiles.
